    • The reason I posed the question is because as I sat at my god-brothers funeral, there was this one woman there who seemed to be flaunting herself around in this red off one shoulder dress, and there were some women seated behind me just being so negative about her dress, I will admit the dress in my opinion was not appropriate for the occasion more like a party dress and it was too short as well as too tight for her body they were making comments about the color so is red inappropriate at a funeral?

    • I don’t think the red is inappropriate as much as the dress itself.

I had a step-cousin who wore a barely cover her butt mini-skirt to my grandma’s funeral (in a small, very conservative rural church).  I thought that was inappropriate even though it was black.

A one shoulder dress just doesn’t seem appropriate.

    • I think her one shoulder, short, and skin tight dress is inappropriate, but the color red is OK to wear to a funeral.

    • the colour red to perhaps celebrate the life of the deceased...as for the style of dress body hugging, sexy for some perhaps she could be thinking in her head, if the deceased were looking down from heaven now he may have a big grin from ear to ear.  besides it will be her and the lord whom she will have to explain to when her time comes....you do what you feel is right at this occassion neicy, she needs no further mention...

    • Personally, I would not choose red. The style of the dress is what is most inappropriate for the occasion.

    • Red and skin tight may be a bit flashy for a funeral, as in most cases people tend to dress conservatively, but a bit of red in a blouse or skirt is not a bad thing.
