    • Per Yelp Yellow Van Handyman got a 5 star, but there’s others too. My projects are tub caulking and tile wall repair, fix gutter above my awning and it appears a critter is living there, and replace the rubber strips on my garage door. I’ve checked the web sites and reviews of some, but how do I know I get the right one?

    • just do it yourself and have it overwith.  None of that stuff is difficult and you should be able to find good tutorials if you do a search.

    • I think Yelp is pretty reliable. If you don’t mind paying a fee, maybe Angie’s List would be helpful. I don’t know much about them but I see their ads all the time. Also, maybe your neighbors have a referral for you.

My mother lives in a senior only community and they share information about handymen all the time. She found a great guy who does just about everything and doesn’t charge much. He comes over once a month or so and does the work on her list so she only has to pay one trip charge.

    • I’m with Tuliplady..... Check for how to’s on YouTube and save a few bucks. The only one you may need help ith is the critter removal.

    • I’m a big advocate of DIY when you can. But if you don’t feel comfortable with that, look for customer reviews on the companies.  That always helps when I’m looking for someone to provide a service.  You may also want to contact a few to get estimates before you make your decision.

    • Thanks ladies for your comments. Sure, there are alot of DIY tutorials and I have watched some for other projects. They make it look easy, but once you try it doesn’t go well. So It may be easy for some of you, but it’s not for me. Sorry, I don’t have the abilities as some of you.

I have contacted the one I mentioned that got good customer reviews for a quote and plan to call another.

    • Linda, the rubber strip around our garage door fell off a few days ago.  I’ve never done repair work around our home, we MAJORLY  hire others.  I’m determined that I can and will replace it myself.  I’ve always wanted to try my hand at being a handywoman!

We also have a major and minor repair that the experts will need to handle.  Hubby told me to check Angie’s List.  Like you, I am searching for the right ones to do the job.
      Best wishes to you!estatic

    • Thank you Butterflyrose. I’ve checked Yelp instead because Angie’s List has a fee to use their services.
All the best to us! happy
