I’m not a huge fan of chardonnay but if I had to pick a favorite it would be between Chateau Montelena or ZD. The founder of Chateau Montelena is a friend of ours and his chardonnay was legendary in the 70’s in a blind tasting in France. It was the first time an American wine won and it literally put Napa Valley on the map as the wine region is has become.
There are a couple, and they are from the Finger Lakes region of NY state. Turning Leaf does makes a good one also.
