Q & A

Have you lost 40lbs or more and kept if off for over 3 years?  If so, what is your strategy and how did you do it?? What are the 3 things you changed that mattered the most?

    • I wish I could say I’ve kept it off for 3 years. I lost 50 last year but gained back nearly 20 which I’m now starting to lose again. What I’ve learned that works is keeping track of my portions by writing down what I eat. I use the website Sparkpeople.com to track food and exercise. Another thing I’d recommend is getting to know the triggers that cause any unhealthy eating habits. For me it’s stress,boredom, sadness - but mostly stress. That triggers bad choices and laziness in exercise habits for me. Another thing that worked for me was to lose weight for no one else but me. I established my own reasons for taking the weight off which allowed me to keep myself motivated because I was working toward my own goal and not something someone else decided for me.
