Do you remember when you or your children learned how to tie their shoe laces?
Gosh, it was forever years ago so I don’t remember when I was able to accomplish tying my shoe laces. I don’t know and my daughter doesn’t remember when she was finally able to do it.
At our school the majority of the primary grade students are unable to tie their own shoe laces. Too many times us adults have to bend down to do this for them. They‘re unwilling to learn from us or their families do not teach them. And they don’t want velco shoes because they are not fashionable or brand name.
Oh my gosh! I hadn’t thought about that in YEARS, but yes I remember now that you prodded my mind.
I struggled with it so much. I am left handed and everyone trying to teach me was right handed- what a mess. I think one of my cousins finally made it understandable for me.
Teaching my right handed daughter was tough, but it was something they had to know before they started kindergarten.
What is wrong with parents who don’t teach their child the basics in life???????????????

I can’t remember when I learned to do my shoe laces. My oldest just learned a few years ago and sometimes still struggles with it. My youngest STILL has yet to learn. Most shoes now adays come with Velcro so not many shoes with laces.
i cant remember when i learnt but i do know it was at a later age. in primary we had no uniform and i had sandals or buckle up shoes. my son learnt before my daughter to tie shoe laces. they are teenagers now. i am left handed and the rest of my own family are right handed. this question makes me laugh about my past![]()
I learned when I was five years old and our son was also the same age, he also learned to ride a bike at age five..he would watch the older kids and had the itch to learn.
