Q & A

Is anyone else really tired of models standing there all pigeon toed and bowlegged in clothing and shoe ads?  Whatever happened to the confident, bold poses of the 70 and 80s?  What’s with having models who look and pose like insecure domestic violence victims?

    • hhhhhmmmm...when i see models that are extremley skinny i think of 3rd world countries and many starving people.  long gone are the days of beauty without drastic starving, cosmetic makeover or obsessive exercising.  i love the look of the old that classic kind of beauty.  i remember reading somewhere someone say that with all this cosmetic surgery made us all look alike.  i like how i look and i like how women and men look who have not had their faces or body changed.....

    • Yes.  Fault goes to the fashion industry because just the boney models are wanted by the designers to show off their clothing and accessories. I’d rather see the average size women as models.

    • It is a disgrace, and only adds to the increasing number of young women obsessed with their weight and therefore upping the numbers of anorexia.

If you get a chance, try to see a movie called “Gia“...it stars Angeline Jolie, is quite provocative, but really takes a glimpse into the modeling world...and this was back in the 80’s I believe.

    • Mary, I watched part of it the other night.  Actually I think it was in the early 70’s.  What’s sad is that in 30 or so years, we haven’t made much forward progress in resolving these issues.
