    • I was invited to a baby shower this weekend but decided not to go because it was far away and I didn’t know the woman too well.  I also turned down a dinner get-together because they were getting together at a location that is completely out of my way when going home from work.

I drive 2 hours and about 70 miles each day for work and on the weekends, I like to drive as little as possible.  I usually stick around where I live.

    • Yes, I would get lost driving long distance to an unfamiliar location. I also prefer to go to places near my area.

    • Depends on the situation. I’m invited to a lot of things in Michigan and living in Tennessee makes it hard for me to say yes. When I lived in Michigan the distance usually was not a deciding factor since I’m used to driving everywhere. My deciding factors are cause, time and person.

    • I’m with Vikki, hub does so much driving all week, it is tough for him to drive very long distances on the weekend..so sometimes we can make it, sometimes we can’t.

I don’t have a vehicle accessible to me most of the time, so I stay local.

    • Yes, I do turn down invitations occasionally because of distance. I only drive to familiar places or areas I can find easily.  Most times, I don’t even have to drive then as  family will drive me near and far distances. I drive to the BIG CITY only because it’s my hometown.  I truly LOVE being chauffeured! This is a gift I constantly receive!heart

    • Distance isn’t really an issue for me, everything is far away where I live, but ...if it means I have to spend for an extra tank of gas, I don’t go.  It’s just not in the budget anymore.  I haven’t even been to see my best friends in two months because it means I’d have to buy extra gas.
