Q & A

Thinking about Linda and Tulipladys questions has me thinking. Are you more or less attracted to powerful people?

    • Hmmm, I don’t think power has anything to do with it for me.

At the hunting lodge, I rub elbows with some very wealthy, powerful men, but if there’s not some basic magnetism there, the power doesn’t interest me.

    • Less. I’m with Tulip on this issue. But there are some very powerful and influential people who are very humble and those people attract me. With my husband’s work we rub elbows with very wealthy people here. Some of them are loud and not very enjoyable to be around and some are wonderful. They give so much and expect so little. So I guess it depends for me if powerful people are humble and kind or loud and obnoxious.

    • I like both Tulip’s and Cynthia’s answer. Sometimes powerful people intimidate me because some don’t treat you equally and are snobs. However, if they‘re nice and what to get to know you then that’s a good feeling.

    • Yes, I agree with Cyn and Linda.

I had a man one night refuse his piece of chocolate cream pie and tell me in a very condesending voice that I could have it for myself.  I was blown away and ignored him, but that attitude got him uninvited to future hunts at our lodge.

On the other end of the spectrum I’ve had men who to quote my boss “are as rich as God” give me a hug and thank me for the wonderful meals before they left.

It’s not about power, it’s about attitude.

Really the same thing goes for poor people.  There are “poor me” poor people and there are people who put on a smile and go to work and do the best they can despite their circumstances.

    • No, the only power that I respond to is God.  There is not one human on this earth that I feel is better than me, therefore, I treat everyone the same...but of course, if there are those that have a huge head and THINK they are better than me, that is probably why I am not friends with them or relate to them very little.

    • when i think of power i think of money.  wealth does not attract me to them.  truthfully they are just people, flesh and blood.  i listen to what they talk about, whom they help financially and the kind of person they are.  intelligence, humour, good manners are qualities that draw me to someone weather they have money or power, or both
