    • Goodness, there have been so many!  Especially since I was a professional cook for so many years.

Early in my married life trying to learn to deal with a gas stove, there was the catching the spaghetti noddles on fire....  there was a loaf of some sort of bread that even the dog wouldn’t eat.....  forgetting a duck on the grill and the flare ups from the fat burnt it to a cinder.....

    • I had a baking disaster when I was in a second grade.  I was making an apple pie in my friend’s house.  It required 4 eggs, I put 6 in but forgot to add a baking soda.  My pie did not cook through and my friend’s mom screamed at me:)

    • The one that always comes to mind is my dauthers 16th birthday cake. I made it from scatch and was so proud of it. Then I realized it weighed about 30 lbs. We didn’t even attempt to eat any of it...lol So that’s what my family teases my about endlessly.

    • Well I didn’t get around to actually cooking it but past Wednesday...while preparing my cornbread dressing for Thanksgiving...I decided to double my recipe for it.  I was lacking an ingredient while in the middle of preparing it and ran out to the grocery to get what I needed.  When I left my son Ben was still at the house.  He left and left our two BIG dogs in the house.  My black lab got the big bowl of dressing (all breading at this point) put it on the floor (of course it crashed) and both dogs had a feast of dressing.  Winston also got the two sticks of butter I had in the frying pan waiting on my celery and minced onion.
I came back from the store to find everything in place. My husband was home at this point and had already cleaned up the mess. I went to the bowl that was in the same spot where I left it but it was empty. I asked where my dressing was and my husband mumbled, “they got it.” I said “what?” He said, “the dogs got it.” I about died...and went into a rambling rage.
That night, Winston threw up....not just a little...but a massive amount.  I got to not only start over with my dressing preparation but I got to clean up throw up too.  So for me that was my worst cooking disaster.
