    • for me - to please my family, to please the boss and at times to help me cope when i need cheering up, when i need better self discipline, when i feel i am allowing myself to wallow too much

    • If I didn’t try to be someone I’m not, I’d never move forward in life.  I’d be so stuck in a rut I’d never get anywhere.

    • I think especially for women we wear many hats.  We are women first, but sometimes wives, mothers, grandmothers, friends, co-worker...etc.  In all those relationships our roles change...responsibilities change.....and personas change.

I would like to think that we are all the same in everything we do but I think we are fooling ourselves if we say we are like that in everything.  I think we also act differently around our family and then again around our friends...and maybe even differently around different groups of friends.

Then again...some people try to be something they are not to get ahead say like in a job.....or in a relationship.  When trying to be something you are not...like being fake....as a person....it’s not good and it will only hurt other people and eventually yourself.

But as Tulip said...sometimes we have to push ourselves ....maybe go outside the box...to move forward.  Great point Tulip.heart

    • I was thinking about work specifically.  I try to put myself out there as being hardworking and motivated—even though I’m not that sort of person. Deep down I’m lazy as a sloth.  But I figure if I keep faking it long enough, pretty soon I’ll BE hardworking and motivated.

    • I don’t really know, maybe they are unhappy with themselves and want to try something new and exciting.
