Q & A

When I was growing up, I don’t remember hearing about school shootings at all.  Now there seems to be shootings all the time.  I was wondering what you think is the culprit behind all this terrible violence.

    • When we were growing up, lunatics were locked up in mental health institutions.  Now, those institutions have been closed down and these crazies are allowed to roam the streets.

It has nothing whatsoever to do with guns and everything to do with mental health.  The person in China the other day used a knife.  A man in Oklahoma used a truck load of fertilizer.

Alos, this old planet is getting more and more crowded all the time and everywhere you turn there are people. I think the more crowded it gets, the more people will lash out at anyone and everyone.

    • heartheart..so agree with T and Neicy, guns don’t kill people, people kill people and when Madeline Murray O‘Hare (the now deceased atheist) decided on her own, that taking prayer out of schools was a great thing, she was sadly mistaken.

As far as many parents not guiding their kids, that also is a travesty, not to mention the huge impact all those stinking computers games have had on our children’s impressionable minds.  It is all so sickening.frown

    • There are many reasons but for me, it’s all about disconnection. We are all trying so hard to connect with each other yet more and more people feel alone and disconnected from what is supposed to be “the norm” or “what everybody should look like and want“. We put masks on to be as we think people want us to be, thus denying our true selves, therefore disconnecting with ourselves and our surroundings even more. We live in a time when everybody and everything is never enough. Not enough thin, not enough worthy, not enough competent, not enough rapid, not enough this, not enough that.
I guess some people get so disconnected they crack. They hurt inside and do not feel the link with the outside world anymore, so they do the unthinkable.

    • This is sad but I believe true...these folks are mentally disturbed, don’t want to live any longer but they want to be remembered. It’s sick and twisted.
I don’t think the media should ever mention the shooters name at all.
I can relate with the mental illness, its a struggle and a fight everyday just to survive, I just wish they would get the proper help they need instead of acting out in this way. So many innocent lives are being lost. It’s very sad
