    • We do Christmas stockings and we do a present or two from Santa. We didn’t do either of those in my family growing up.

    • We always go to church as a family on Christmas Eve.  There were lots of times when I was growing up that we didn’t go to Christmas services.  Christmas Eve is the only day of the year that my husband and my dad go to church, and the only time that my kids go to my church instead of their dads.

    • I’m in the process of shaping that right now.  The Mr. and brother (= my entire family) don’t celebrate any holidays, so it’s all on me.  I was sort of on autopilot in 2010 (we’d just lost Mom the month before), I didn’t have the oomph to do it myself last year (and hated the results), and this year I’m getting back into it.

Not sure which traditions are staying and which are going, nor what’s replacing them.  I do know I want to go more Irish/nature-y with my decor, and to find new people with whom to celebrate, since the boys aren’t into it.  I was so busy with finishing school that I didn’t plan at all... so, this week is going to suck. heartbreak  Well, it’ll give me an early start for next year, wherever we’ll be a year from now.

    • We don’t kill trees

We light our articial tree 12 days before christmas

We celebrate winter not christmas the month of Dec and Jan.

We give presents but not all at once... on different days a gift is open

We have daily events one night might be christmas movie night while another is bake cookie day

And each year we decide on a new tradition this year we are voting if we want bigger stockings and gifts have to fit in the stocking
