Q & A

Having a bit of nostalgia.  Do you remember the Molly Ringwald movies, Pretty in Pink, 16 Candles, and the Breakfast Club?  Did you have a favorite?  I used to love those movies.

    • I’d say Breakfast Club was my favorite.  I wasn’t a huge fan of hers, but of course I saw all the movies.

    • I use to love all of them! My favorite was Breakfast club too. I use to watch it over and over and over again when I was a teen. Watched it not so long ago but it seems a bit silly and boring now. Still love the Simple Mind theme song though (Don’t forget about me).

I use to watch Footloose a lot too. We all had a thing for Kevin Bacon back then. It’s a silly movie but still fun to watch! The plot for teenage movies was quite simple in those years... :)

    • I call those movies “teenage angst” movies.  It doesn’t matter if they‘re from our era, or new ones, the plot is almost always the same.  Hubby watches a lot of them, but they just annoy me.

I watched Breakfast Club and Footloose both not too long ago.  Breakfast Club I still enjoyed.  Footloose was just silly.  I have to say, I probably had a thing for Kevin Bacon back in the day. :)

    • Kevin Bacon is from Philadelphia, PA originally..apparently his father was quite important in some of the infrastructure down in the city area.  Kevin had quite an interesting life and is a very versatile actor, probably one of the better ones from our era...remember the original Friday the 13th? (horror movie) that was his first movie role.

I love the teen movies from the 80’s, it does bring back simpler times and it was fun.  Molly Ringwald was a doll, and Pretty in Pink is a favorite of mine, besides the Breakfast Club...she was in a movie with Andrew McCarthy called Fresh Horses, did not get good reviews, but not everyone had winning movies.
