    • here in the desert-everything has to be heat proof.  We have a dining set and some Martha Stewart chairs and a coffee table under the patio.  We keep the pillows in a weather proof rubbermaid and pull them out when we want to use them.  The hot winds, the sun (even though it’s shady under there most of the day), the extreme cold-those pads wouldn’t last us a season if we left them out.  even the glider on the front-we keep the pillows under wraps.  Our yard has a fire pit, which we have used a lot since moving in!  we made smores w/ the grandkids this week.  A few more weeks-misters, really will be needing those!  no grass to worry about, plants are aree desert/drought resistent. I did plant some basil and rosemary, but I’m sure the basil won’t do too well.  Here’s hoping though!

    • The basil should do fine if you keep it watered well.  It likes heat.

I don’t have much of anything on my patio at the moment.  The wind blows everything away.  I had two of those cheap plastic chairs setting out and a couple months ago the wind took them both.  Found one again, never did find the other.  The wind tipped over my heavy wooden bench.

Spring is around the corner and then I’ll have planters and things out again, but now it’s just full of litter the dog drags home.
