    • We moved around a lot when I was growing up but I do remember my favorite home.  It was a home that my brother bought after I graduated from high school.  It was 3 bedrooms and it had a basement.  What I liked about it was that I finally had my OWN room!!  My room was a peach color.  And for a while, I even moved downstairs in the basement which had it’s own bathroom and separate entrance.  I really liked that!

    • I liked them all.  Each had something about it that was special.  Seems like wherever we moved, Mom always managed to scrape together enough money to put a fresh coat of paint on the bedrooms so I always had whatever color room I wanted.  One trailer house we lived in when I started first grade had a half bath attached to my bedroom.  I thought that was the height of luxury!!!!

    • lol Tulip. I would’ve LOOOVED a bath attached to my bedroom, and an igloo of course sounds so fun!

I don’t remember someplace being better than another. I have special places in each house, but I think it was mostly attached to some activity I liked to do there.

In England I only remember that we had a two story home and the staircase had red carpet. I use to slide it down on my belly. There was also a little trap door in the living room that led in the kitchen pantry; I use to hide there.

In Quebec we had a huge basement with a tricycle and a wagon plus the radio. My sister and I use to takes turns riding in the wagon listening to music.

    • LOL!  What great memories!  You reminded me of the house we lived in in Iowa.  Big huge two story farmhouse with green carpet on the stairs and we’d slide down those stairs all the time.

    • My mom, sister and I lived in a duplex that her brother owned..(we are estranged from my uncle) and we lived in the downstairs flat.  The house was ok, but the basement was very old and smelled of mildew and I hated doing laundry down here. My mom tried her best to make it as cozy as possible and I remember going to yard sales alot.
