    • I would say arrogance is thinking you are better than everyone else while confidece is knowing you are as good as anyone.

    • Hi Tulip!  I like your response.  I think arrogance is being overly confident and always showy while confidence is knowing that you are good, capable, and motivated to achieve w/o being a snob.

But I wonder if it depends on how people perceive others. Some may think a confident person as arrogant and vice versus.

    • I think it probably does depend at least somewhat on perspective.

Supposing you are a very young woman with no self confidence and no self esteem at all, a very confident 40-something woman might seem arrogant.

I also think of arrogant people as having no regard for others.

    • I see people with confidence as very approachable and willing to share who they are with others. They are people who are most likely to be the mentors in the world. They don’t have to prove anything to anyone and are very comfortable in their own skin.

The arrogant ones, I believe, deep down inside feel inferior and their arrogance is a way to mask that. I’m sure some of them truly believe they are better than everyone else, but I think many of them are just afraid their frailties will be discovered.

    • Confidence is when you can do and be without offending others.
