    • I’m thinking about installing some open shelving above my frig, but with my housekeeping skills I’m worried it’s always going to look cluttered.

    • Hi T, when we moved in, I painted all my existing wood cabinets white.  There was an overhead cabinet that was huge, so we ordered a smaller cabinet with a glass front.  The only things I have in there are plain white dishes and bowls.  A few glass tea cups with plates and a few black and white coffee mugs.  I did add a few red bowls for a pop of color.

Your idea sounds awesome as the look of open shelving gives it a cottage feel and you can mix and match anything.

    • I would recommend against it estatic

I had them, and they always managed to look like TOO Much or not enough. Since we remodeled I’ve closed them off and now have full storage without the worry

    • I was leaning toward open shelving because it is cheap and easy.

Realisticly, above the frig it’s always going to be dusty.  The things I really need to store up there are not pretty or decorative.

Probably not the best brain storm I’ve ever had.

    • we inherited one when we moved into this home.  I personally do not like glass cabinets.  It is what it is-we put our glasses in there along w/ my glass vases.

because the glasses are clear-no one really notices the area.
