    • Yes, I have health insurance from work. The amount we pay depends on the number of hours we work. Doesn’t make sense, but the less hours you work the more you pay for health insurance.

Yes, insurance companies are a big fraud. Every year the amount increases w/ less benefits.

    • A young friend of mine at work who is 23 years old, super responsible, buying a house, paying his own way, has health insurance,etc...... went to the Dr. because he messed up his knee playing baseball.  He decided that since he had insurance he could afford to go to the doc.  Wrong. His bill at the ER is $400 of which insurance covered $40.  He hasn’t gotten the bill for the MRI, nor the visit to the orthopedic dr.

I could write pages on the issues I’ve got with insurance companies.

I think they are all a fraud and have caused much of the corruption in the medical billing system.

    • Yes, I have insurance through my husband’s work, he pays for just me and our son.  Our son, since he turns 26 this year will need to get his own plan and found a very affordable one through Blue Cross.  The college (where he works) pays my husband’s fully and once our son is off of hub’s, he will have a bit more money in his check.

I still feel that insurance is very important, it just depends on the plan you get, what it covers and doesn’t cover and let’s face it there will always be a deductible attached to everything, but I would still want the insurance than not have it.
