    • I think uniforms are a good idea. Most private school students wear uniforms. Our public school district sent out a survey to the parents, however the majority said NO.
I’d like to see it become mandatory it would eliminate students wearing inappropriate clothing and the cost as well.

    • Our kids are stifled by enough rules and regulations nowdays.  Uniforms would be too much.

    • I went to a private school most of my life and had to wear uniforms.  At the time I hated it.  It was a treat to have tag day though.

But now as a parent, I think it is a great idea.  It would definitely cut down on costs and yes, also inappropriate clothing.

    • My husband is a headmaster of a private school and they have a dress code rather than a uniform. Before the dress code the kids were looking horrible! The girls were too skimpy and the boys were really sloppy. Collared shirts, skirts that are not too short, no midriff showing, and closed toed shoes - and the kids look great. They thought about uniforms but it’s so warm in Hawaii that he wanted the kids to be comfortable and also didn’t want the parents to be obligated to purchase the uniforms.

    • Good idea, Cynthia!  I like the dress code idea and when our son was young and attended a Charter school, the dress code was blue golf shirts, khaki pants and clean sneakers and the kids loved it.

    • Where I live the kids wear them and they look nice and it is helping out alot of kids who don’t have it also stop alot of children from bullying on other kids because they did not have it to wear and parents who could use the money on something else so to me it is a excellent ideal.
