My long time toaster gets smoky so it’s time for a new one. What kind do you have?
Is it broken or just full of crumbs and stuff? If it’s smoking is there maybe something melted onto the elements? Nobody intentionally toasts plastic, but maybe some got melted onto an element?
I hate the new toasters. They just don’t work as well as the old. My toaster is a delightful shiny chrome thing that I bought at a rummage sale for 50cents last year and it’s from the 70’s. Slots aren’t wide enough for a bagel, but it sure toasts nice.
Hi Tulip, I did clean out the inside including the trays as much as I can. It’s still smoky. I agree with you the new toasters are just not the same. My old one that my ex bought was excellent and lasted for a long time. Thank you for your comment.
Hi Linda!
I just got a new toaster not so long ago. It’s an Oster. I like it. We got rid of the old one because the crumb tray broke and I couldn’t get it out to clean the crumbs.
Thanks Diane! I’ll check out the Oster toaster it helps that a friend likes it.
I have a cuisinart that we got at Costco and we like it. It has pull out drawers to clean the crumbs out, has wide enough slots, and it toasts very well.
We have a Hamilton Beach that I purchased at K-Mart, and it is very roomy and toasts everything evenly.
