For the question “Can we contact your supervisor?” on a job application, is it wrong if you mark No?

    • No, it’s not wrong.  That’s why they give you the option.

      I wouldn’t want anyone contacting my supervisor, because  wouldn’t want him to know I was looking for a different job.

    • The reason I asked is I haven’t done anything wrong, but I’m not one of his favorites so he might not give me a good word. But then if he wants to get rid of me he may say good things. To the new employer a No response might mean that I’m hiding something and not a good employee. He may be negative about me if I give a Yes answer. This might be silly to some of you, but I don’t know which way to go.

    • Employers can’t/don’t say anything negative when called for a job reference anymore.  They pretty much limit it to “yes, they work here“.
