Are you a traditional person when it comes to being address by your children’s friends as Ms. Mrs. Miss. or are you going with the flow of being called by your first name?

    • First name is fine. Some young adults prefer to address me as Ms. When I tell them it’s OK to call me by my first name, they say I learned to be respectful when addressing older people. And I jokingly say so you‘re calling me OLD.  

      However, some of our students just call me by my first name or say “hey“, so I have to correct them.

    • When I was first married and had children I was the third generation Mrs. L in my community.  If someone said Mrs. L, I automatically looked around for my husband’s grandmother, so I prefered kids to call me by my name.

      Honestly, “Mrs.” is never something that has defined me and I prefer not to be called Mrs—ever, by anyone.
