    • I don’t think my company is having one this year.  I was reminiscing with my husband about the fancy Holiday parties we used to attend at the JW Marriott in DC when we both worked at BNA.  We both would get dressed up and the party was very nice.  One year we even got a hotel room and went dancing at the clubs after the party.  Fun Times!  I miss getting dressed up.

    • Oh yes!  Ours is set for the 20th of Dec.  Not fancy, but it is at the best steakhouse in town.  Sawdust on the floor, company buys the steaks AND the booze.  I dress up because that’s the way I am.  Last year our secretary wore the same ratty tattered jeans and sweatshirt that she wears to work.  Fun time though.

And then we have a noon potluck and gift exchange the day before Christmas break, which I have to organize this year.

Hub’s place of employment is an optical college that gives their employees big sandwiches, loud obnoxious music and free beer all in the college gym...hub never stays!worried

    • since I’m on disability and only supplement w/ my freelancing, I’m not doing anything for me!  estatic

but dh’s company really pulls out all the stops!  Last year, our first w/ the company-they held an open bar, sitdown dinner, dancing, free photo booth and an evening of raffle prizes (no one paid, just came and checked in and the name was then put in the “jar“).  DH won us a keurig coffeemaker!  They also handed out gifts to those who made milestones of some kind:  longest employed, best designer, best in sales, etc.

It was a lovely evening.  This Sunday will be the next one.

    • Hubby’s company is having a pull-out-all-the-stops type Christmas party again this year.  Prime rib dinner, open bar, door prizes, motel rooms for those of us who have to drive...
I wish they’d just take all the money this party costs and divy it up and give all the employees a bonus instead.  Just the bar tab alone would make for nice bonuses!
