    • Not to be arrogant, but in 2014 WA state has the highest minimum wage of $9.32. Last fall voters approved a proposition to raise the minimum wage to $15 for Port of Seattle (transportation)workers.

    • to be honest, I have no idea what our minimum wage is. My bet is, though, it will go up as other states’ wages go up.

    • I had to do an Internet query on this one...it is only $7.25.  That is ridiculous!!  In 1986, I was working at Baskin-Robbins making $3.35 and that was minimum wage back then...almost 30 years ago.  That is really sad.  frown

      I hope it goes up!

    • I don’t know.  I think it’s something like $7.75.

This may sound cold and callous of me, but I don’t care what it is.  Good workers get paid what they are worth around here and crap workers get paid minimum wage.  Simple as that.

    • Hi Tulip, Hmmmmmmmmmm. I get what you‘re saying, but I think sometimes the ineffective workers get what they are not worth and the good long time employees pay become stagnant.

Sorry, I sound cold. Ex: My ex boss got mucho $$ for not doing anything he made us do his work.

    • Yes, Linda, I will agree there are a lot of cases of the head cheese making far, far more than he/she is worth!

I would say that I don’t make quite what I’m worth, but I make far more than minimum wage and I’m at the top of the payscale at my job.  And I work work with a few people who are worth no more than minimum wage, but the company pays them $8 anyway.
