    • I don’t do well in conversations. I’ve been to some meetups, but it has not been successful. If you‘re not interesting and don’t have much to say, it’s hard to establish friendships.

    • Do you have a particular hobby or interest that really captivates you?  When in doubt about conversation, ask those you are talking with about their hobbies, interests, likes...people love to talk about what interests them and if you have some knowledge about any topic, you can keep the conversation going.estatic

    • I’m the same as Neicy, I don’t run out of things to talk about.

If all else fails, try the "hey did you see that ridiculous commercial for __ on tv?"

Asking questions is always good.  As Mary said, people usually love to talk about themselves.

    • I’m pretty chatty. If I’m with someone who is shy or not very conversational, I tend to either engage in small talk to make them comfortable or I will ask them general questions to encourage without putting them on the spot. I have a really good girl friend - we’ve been friends for about 20 years- and she’s very shy. Sometimes we just like to engage in activities with no conversation like movies or going for a walk.
