Q & A

Why is it that some people just can’t be nice? Do you talk back to them when they are rude or just let it go?

    • I go for a breather and talk it out w/ people who are kind and understanding.

    • I just ignore anyone who can’t be nice, although I really don’t run into many people who aren’t nice.

    • I have had so many run-ins with mean, nasty people (of course, if you lived in this area of the Northeast you would understand), that now I shut the front door to anyone who is toxic and live my life in a very peaceful and God fearing way.

    • Good for you Mary!

I find that there are some people that I just cannot be nice to.  Usually they are the lazy, useless people at work.  But I just ignore their existence.  I don’t think there’s any point in being rude and nasty.

    • MIL was born in a bad mood I think tongue out  best thing we ever did was when one day dh begged ds to call her (she’s alienated everyone) b/c she wasn’t letting up on him and then, she complained that dh wasn’t the son she thought he’d be (this man did everything for her and nothing was ever enough).  She told ds that her “other family loved her and made her feel warm and fuzzy“.

4 months later-she lived by her DD.  Guess what? BIL told me his family couldn’t stand her and just put up w/ her on Mother’s Day and T-giving for SIL’s sake.

now-I haven’t seen her in over 2 years.  dh took 2 days off to visit his sister/nephew (both had cancer) and since she was there, saw her.

she was still complaining.  understandably-she hasn’t been here.

    • Tulip - exactly what’s the point in being rude and nasty? People don’t want to be around them, yet they don’t seem to get the message and continue their meanness.
