    • I don’t know if Vintage is a style for a house but I like vintage. But not too old looking. I like a house with character to it. Not a cookie cutter house or a house that’s going to look like the other houses on the same street. I like one that stands out. I know I don’t Like Modern inside. To me that’s just kind of boring. I guess I like more of a shabby chic vintage looking place. Or maybe a mixture of vintage and contemporary. My mind is all over the place....lol

    • I like most any style that is true to it’s era.  My favorite is probably mid-century.  Love houses and decor from the 50’s and 60’s.  My own house was built in the late 40’s or early 50’s and I’ve tried to stay true to that decorating style as much as I can.

But I also love craftsman style, and victorian and...... everything.

What I don’t like is things that have been renovated.  If it’s an old craftsman style home, there’s mo point trying to make it over and make it look like it’s from now.  Let a house be true to what it is.

Awhile back I dropped something off at a house in town.  This little house sits in a tract of tiny little two and three bedroom homes from the 50’s.  They were built to house people working on the dam across the river.  Anyway, they are small houses with small rooms and they are great little starter homes for young couples starting out.  But this house, someone had remodeled and tried to make it into an open concept plan.  They had done a nice job on the remodeling, but it just didn’t look right because they were trying to make that house into something that it isn’t and never will be.

    • My favorite style is a log cabin home with a wrap around porch, rustic on the outside, but airy and fresh....inside high vaulted ceilings with an open concept living room...comfy & cozy decor, almost like a chalet style...with a big open kitchen
because I would spend most of my time there, entertaining...the rest of the home would be airy, cozy bedrooms with soft linens, cozy bathrooms done in black and white and a pretty little reading room just for me....my dream home!heartheart

    • My favorite home has always been Queen Anne Victorian. I love the 3 story turrets and wrap-around porches and all the gingerbread trims on the outside.  The insides are also amazing with woodwork and trims and unusual layouts and unexpected nooks.  The stained glass and bowed windows are fantastic.  The kitchens are terrible though so I’d want a modern one.
