    • Spiders are here and there in the house. I just grab a couple of tissues to get rid of them.

When I lived in Japan our house had roaches and my dad would spray them. It’s been a long time since I’ve last seen a cockroach so if I saw one now I’ll probably freak out.

    • I don’t mind a few bugs here and there.  If I’ve got spiders, I know they are keeping other bugs under control.   With the dogs in and out, I’ve always got flies.  They don’t bother me too much.   Roaches FREAK me out big time!

My friends from work who I stay with now and then have had trouble with roaches in their apartment now and then.  The new landlords have finally sprayed a couple times, but this week they got to the root of the roach problem.  One apartment completley infested with them!!!  These people moved out and left everything behind. The furniture had to be wrapped in plastic before it could even be carried outdoors.  And these people had a BABY in this filth.  OMG!!!!!

    • I can’t stand bugs in the house, even a fly annoys me. When I was age 23 I moved to an apartment and the landlord replaced my refrigerator that quit working with a used one she bought at a used appliance place, they brought it in and plugged it in and roaches ran out from the bottom of it. I broke the lease and moved out.

    • I can’t stand bugs!  we’ve always had an exterminating service and it’s so WORTH IT

even w/ the service-dh has been stung by a scorpion and I’ve had spider bites that had me in the urgent care for both a shot of antibiotics and antihistimines.  seriously allergic

Now, my brother and his wife had an issue with bed bugs at one of the apartments they lived in.  That was terrible.  I heard she had bites everywhere!  Yikes!

    • Eww.  I think bedbugs would probably creep me out as bad as roaches.

It’s funny, crickets and beetles and spiders and so on don’t bother me in the least, but the thought of roaches just creeps me out.

    • That is funny, Rikki.  Being from upstate Western NY, it was always too cold for roaches, although I guess in some areas where there was filth, it was probably infested.

Living here in SE Pennsylvania, and living in a rowhouse in the very beginning, we had roaches and “waterbugs” as the people put it here...they are huge black roaches...anyway, in our first home we had to get an exterminator because the house next door acquired small roaches and they made their way through the walls and into my son’s bedroom (he was just an infant), well I screamed at the next door people to clean up their act, they scoffed at me and the day I saw a neighbor cat chase down a large rat, we put the house on the market...it wasn’t a dirty neighborhood, just dirty people living in it.
