    • So, I’m trying desperately to reconnect with my hubby.  We’ve had a rough three years or so, pretty much since just before I lost my last job.

I’ve suggested date night in the past.  He has agreed to it, and then blown me off every single time.

This time it was his idea. But I had to pay.  So tonight we went out to eat.  From the time we left the house till the time we left the restaurant, one hour and 3 minutes—- of sheer boredom.

I chattered a bit about work. When I quit talking, the conversation ended. I tried very hard not to let his appalling table manners bother me.

Anyone got any ideas for something that might not be quite such a disaster.

    • How about renting a movie. You can prepare an easy meal or get takeout and cuddle together while watching the movie.

Or do you both like to go dancing, bowling, or any other activity.

    • He is physically unable to do any activity.  That’s where part of our problems come from.  I’d love to go bowl on a sunday afternoon or go downtown and dance on a Saturday night.  Not gonna happen.  :(

I’m not good at sitting in front of the tv and that’s all he does.

What about board games?  Does he know any card games? Poker.

We usually just go out to dinner on the rare occasion we do go out.

    • would taking some kind of class together also be too difficult?  dh and I loved taking a cooking class together.  our DS/DIL enjoyed doing one of those pottery painting classes.  Home Depot has some neat craft classes for both men and women-maybe your area has something along that line?

Our Library holds all kind of free activities!  Even real estate and computer classes-Yoga (if he’s able!)

    • You could creat a rotating wine tasting party with your friends. If your not into wine then beer or coffee.
Also making beer together can be fun.

My Hubz and I like to walk downtown along the river and just chit chat. Nothing huge for us
