    • I have two younger half sisters that I am not close to.  The last time I spoke to one of them was in 2008 before my youngest son was born.  The other one lives relatively close but never calls and does not seem to want to get together.

Last year, my husband and his mom were not on speaking terms at all.  But eventually they talked and we have seen them several times.

I wish my half sisters and I were closer as we are closer in age than I am to my brothers.  I’ve tried reaching out to them many times over the years but I’m done.  It hurts but I would rather focus my energy and time with people who WANT me in their lives.

    • oh yes.  pretty much, we have very little to do w/ dh’s “person who gave birth to him“.

      she’s alienated everyone.

so sad.  she’s 85, no one here or in SoCal wants anything to do w/ her and now that she’s near her DD-who she said made her feel warm and fuzzy-well, she complains about her as well.

Life is short-why add “tzuris” to what you already live through.

    • We haven’t communicated with my husband’s son in many many years.  It’s a sad situation.  Hubby’s ex wife did a good job of brainwashing the boy against his dad.   I thought once he was grown and had children of his own, it would open his eyes to how wonderful his dad had been, but it didn’t seem to happen.

    • Tulip we are in the same situation with my husband’s daughter.   Was hoping that when she started her own family things would get better but they‘re just worse.  She won’t let us have anything to do with our grandchildren which is sad!

    • My dad was married a few times to women with kids. Not that we‘re estranged but once he divorced and remarried that kind of ended things.
