Q & A

I know I’m overly sensitive, but do you ever get offended if someone (especially a co-worker)snaps at you with a HEY and complains instead of treating you with respect?

    • It’s not a hey between friends, but a HEY with a complaint. Today I was treated with a nasty Hey and it just blew me away.
Yup, I’m too sensitive and took it personally. I’d rather hear an “excuse me” and be spoken to in a respectful way.

    • I guess a “hey” wouldn’t bother me.  But partly it would depend on what mood I’m in too.

I’m lucky at my new job.  People are pretty respectful.  I’ve gotten a lot of “hey, I don’t want to offend you or anything, but....  (you‘re doing it wrong)  but everyone is very nice about it.

I’m a person who tends to use the phrase “excuse me” in a rather sarcastic way, so I wouldn’t want someone saying that to me.  I’m ok with “hey”

Being spoken to in a respectful way is something you should be able to expect in the workplace.
