    • I have pursued all of my goals by imagining myself accomplishing what I want to do. When I get frustrated or even tempted to give up, I think about how bad I have always wanted to reach my goal and that keeps me motivated not to give up.

My step 1 was writing down what I want to achieve in a notebook and being specific about how I am going to go about doing so.

I am doing it for myself and not for anyone else, but its also great to show those around me that I am independent and I can conquer anything!!

    • Make a list, devise a plan and go for it.

Just like Nike says:  Just Do It.

      Good luck.
      Y

    • I have faith that it will happen, at the right time.  I have wanted a horse & my own farm since I was 7.  I am now 42 and I finally have her here, at my home, in our own paddock.  I can see her anytime.  Just believe it will happen and be patient.  BUT you have to believe AND work towards the goal.  Nothing will happen if you dont do what you need to get it.  Have faith, believe, and dont give up.

    • Create a Vision Board.  This has helped me.

    • LOVE those vision boards... nothing keeps your eye on the prize better than that...

I also think that when I have a “long lost dream” it just needs to be re-defined. I know I have a book in me and I have always wanted to address Congress concerning women’s issues... they aren’t long lost dreams... they just haven’t found their true definitions yet... but I am patient that inspiration will find me soon.

    • I love this question. And, yes, writing down dreams and then creating a goal and a plan has a powerful effect. When it’s on paper it becomes tangible. It gives us a starting point.

And, paramount to everything, I believe, is to only abandon the long lost dreams if they no longer interest us. The human imagination is a wonderful thing. We can create endless dreams and with belief and doing the work we can accomplish so much.

    • Those long lost dreams are, for me, my unborn babies!
It affects me that much! I can’t be me if I don’t try. I am spiritual, If ever I’m wrong, I ask the Lord to let me know.

If I didn’t remember my long lost dreams I would still be in depression. All my flags are up!!

    • Visualize!

One day I woke up and said I WANT/NEED to dance again (so I did).
One day I woke up and said I NEED to get in shape and lose this menopause weight (after 8 months of hard work, I did).

Every day visualize what you want and remind yourself of what it will take to get there.

      Don’t lose FOCUS!
