    • Yes, I’ve been to Tyler Texas,. I thought there was a lot to offer from college to job force, entertainment and so much more. depending on where you‘re coming from you just might be well pleased. I believe there is lots to do and see. Take a small trip for yourself.

    • Sorry, I was mistaken. It’s been 24 years since I was there. The town my son went to was Temple, TX. I drove past Tyler on I-20 to get to Ft.Hood.  Being from SC, I was not prepared for the difference in TX.

    • I went to college in Jacksonville, Texas, which is a smallish neighboring town.

We always went into Jacksonville for movies, shopping, etc. Of course that was several years ago, and I'm sure some things have changed.

It is a pretty central location in Texas though, and the state is just full of history. Even if you run through everything Tyler has to offer, chances are good you‘re not far from another town’s treasures.

    • I live in Dallas, so very close to Tyler.  It’s a smallish town right on a main highway.  There is work there, but I wouldn’t doubt if many of the residents commute closer to Dallas which could be an hour or so.  They are know for their roses and sell them on the street.  It’s kind of flat, pretty nice town.  I had a hard experience living a little over 50 miles from Dallas a few years ago.  My husband and I both worked in Dallas so we averaged about $1200 a month in gasoline (and that’s before it went up).  We live in Dallas now, so much better opportunities.
