Q & A

Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to describe your happy place.  This is not to be a real place, this is purely imaginary.  This is the place to which you will retreat when the world gets to you.  Ready? GO!

    • My sky is pink, and the clouds rain chocolate.  The grass is made of cotton balls and I can go lay on it whenever I choose.  Men and children are allowed, but only when i want to see them.  anyone who is mean or nasty or too opinionated gets zapped to the tarpits.  you can share this place with me if you need a good cry or just a place to relax and talk, but you will not monopolize my time or, zap, to the tarpits.  the weather can change at the drop of a hat, but no winters are allowed.  it’s not all about me, but you will recognize when i need to share about myself and my needs and not always cater to you or your needs.  you will be given as much time as you need to grow, but you will not remain in a perpetual state of immaturity.  you get to eat whatever you want whenever you want and you can gain or lose weight at the rate you want. you can exercise if you want, but if you try to force anyone else to, ZAP!  you can sing as loudly as you want, in a key, even if it’s wrong, and you are free to dance whenever and wherever you like (the traffic lights even have a “dance light“).  you will die only when you‘re ready to, and apologies must always be genuine.  you‘re not required to be happy all the time (that would be boring), but you have very limited time to be bitterly angry, and you are never genuinely sad by yourself.

Aaaaah, i feel my lungs breathing more freely already...

    • My happy place is on a white sand beach...the sand is warm on my skin...soft breezes are slipping around me. The sun is bright but not overpowering and birds are singing. Best part is I am with my one true love and and we are content, happy and satisfied. There are no judgments, no harsh words, no turmoil or stress in the world. We lay peaceful watching the waves...no words need be spoken between us. This is peace and harmony.

    • My happy place is growing up in my grandparents home.  I always think back to that when life deals me a crappy hand.  Those were the times when I didn’t want for anything, I was always happy, even as an only child.  I played by myself majority of the time, but I was always happy.  I find now that when I’m down, being by myself makes me happiest.  My grandparents spoiled me to death, but I never took advantage of it.  I still miss them a whole lot and think of them regularly.  My “pa-pa” passed away in 89, and “big mama” in 02.

    • Mine is where I spent last night a small street Rue Lepic – looking out of the French windows onto the hustle of street and in the distance seeing Sacre Coeur ....all the streets are cobbled.
I love walking up the winding streets up to the top of the hill to look down on the City.

I also love where I had breakfast this morning Champs Elysee the wide tree lined street leading up to the Arch de Triumph ....I love sitting in a pavement cafe people watching.

The French women so coiffed and glamorous and just listening to people chatting in French ....

    • I’m back to when I was 7y.o. or so, I’d dreamt of a woods w/ a stream parting the area. There was a bridge over the stream(old & wooden). Across the the stream I saw a young MAN, tall dark, handsome & he saw me. Over the years the same dream evolved to the point of our going onto the bridge but only to-just @ the middle. It was so peaceful, loving, conversations w/ dream man helped me thru a lot of BAD times.
Guess what??  I met that dream man & married him. I stopped having the dream after we were married but when I need to go to my place.. it’s my dream.

    • Well I have two different happy places and they are both very real.  The first is along the beach at Surf City, SC at sunrise in the early spring before the summer crowds have arrived.  There is a little chill to the air, but it is comfortable with a pair of capris and a hooded sweatshirt.  The gulls are crying, the waves are softly crashing, the sand makes a soft landing as I briskly walk and the sun is a spectacular pink as it rises above the horizon.  If you are really lucky you may catch a glimpse of the dolphins leaping way out in the ocean.

My second happy place is the Toledo Botanical Gardens, Toledo, OH.  I have only been there once, but it was very, very beautiful.  It was a spring day with a perfect temperature (not too hot, not too chilly).  The sun was shining nicely and there was just a small, gentle breeze.  The birds were singing happily and the garden displays were just beginning to show their beauty.  There were shaded woody areas and also full sun gardens.  Where ever I walked I felt as God was speaking to me in the breeze and in the beauty before me.  I have never before felt so content and at peace.  It was a total stress reliever and I plan to go back again this spring or summer.

    • My imaginary place of tranquility is high up on a hugh cloud on a sunny day I have a world within the clouds where it is nothing but paradise, cool springs running, mountain views, the sound of the birds chirping and the warm breeze blowing as I lie on the cloud enjoying the view and taking in all that God is saying to me as I float by.
