    • Hmmmm.... “once a liar, always a liar??” I would have to say it depends on what they lied about, and how they went about lying. Some people make it a way of life and feel no remorse AND they are very good at it. However, I think some people might make a bad choice and lie about it and never want to do it again.  Those are my guesses.

And cheaters.... well.... I guess it depends on how easy cheating is for them AND I think the lying is a big part of the cheating.

Quite honestly both types people are perplexing to me. We may never know those answers.
Personally my conscience would never allow me to do either.
I think it’s how your raised.

    • Nope. Unless they’ve done it over and over, I’m willing to believe these can be one-time-only occurrences.

    • I’m not sure that once someone has cheated and lied to you that you can ever trust them again. If however you do want to “move on” with that person you MUST let go of all the questions and start a brand new slate. You will never forget, or perhaps forgive, but you must make a decision at some point. Your questions will never be answered, and sometimes it can be a blessing not to know everything if you want to move on.

    • That is one thing I can’t stand is when someone lies to me...I usually give them a chance to fess up and if they don’t and I find out that they lied...well then the trust is gone...

      I also like the saying

“You fool me once...Shame on YOU...you fool me twice...Shame on ME...”

I have gone further and added my own twist to it...

“You fool me once...Shame on YOU...you fool me twice...Shame on ME...try it again...and I’ll kick your ASS!”

As far as cheating...in my marriage my husband cheated...I caught him twice...yessss I am a fool and let it go...hoping it wouldn’t happen again...but only to my disgust and disappointment it did...so my conclusion to that was once a cheat always a cheat...if they are capable of doing it once....what makes me think he won’t do it again?

    • i am torn on this...

i agree and disagree with the statement..( for lying )

i think it depends on the person and the situation

cheating however i feel, once they cheat, they have a higher chance of cheating again...

    • I to have had firsthand experience with a liar and cheat..I don't think the occasional white lie makes them a chronic liar..But you take the ones who cheat and lie...They are repeat offenders..They are like junkies they need the excitement and the thrill..Mine was an on line adult dating cheater and liar..Oh you would never believe the pain I went through..Someday I will share it with you..it would take a few posts  to tell because it was a 7 month string of deception and lies..A Fricking Nightmare...This Man Was so good he should be an actor...and I should have gotten the "Idiot" of the year award...

    • I’d have to agree w/ ukgirl & karyno. Been lied to & cheated on, guess I lost my ability to trust unless I know them very well. Lies come in various forms, but liars are liars & cheaters are cheaters! Sorry, gotta stick to trust!
