Hi Rose in a previous blog on this subject, I said I’m going to get him some cufflinks and some of my favorite cologne I like smelling on him lol.

Yeah, we don’t really do V-day, either. I actually dislike that there is such a day that pressures everyone into thinking they HAVE to do something like this, as if what we NORMALLY do & how we NORMALLY express ourselves to one another isn’t enough.
But, that’s just me. Or is it?
I think Valentine’s day is a reminder to do something special for your lovey. Sometimes life gets in the way and we get so busy that we don’t take the time to “stop smell the roses“. Be a little romantic, do something different - have some fun! Make it your own - no pressure needs to be involved.
Go on, let your creative juices start flowing!
A card and a bonsai plant. He said that he always like those plants. He would never buy one though, I just know it. So I’ll surprise him with a really nice one!
I had one earlier and it was better but this site lost it. So this is the alternative one.
Well I will put this in the card. “Think of the BONSAI tree as our LOVE and then read this”
It is not enough just to plant a tree in a pot and allow nature to take its course - the result would look nothing like a tree and would look very short-lived. Every branch and twig of a bonsai is shaped or eliminated until the chosen image is achieved. From then on, the image is maintained and improved by a constant regime of pruning and trimming.

Although my husband will probably send roses and a mushy card... I’m just not feeling it this year..
I will get something for my little ones though, probably a heart shape box of chocolates and a cuddly Webkinz of some sort!
I’m not a Valentine’s Day fan...really never have been!
I may get him a card...make a special dinner....but that is about it!!
I usually will make my boys a goodie bag with their favorite junk.
We usually make a special dinner together for Valentine’s Day. Often we’ll make lobster and filet with a salad and we either open a nice bottle of wine or champagne. We sit and talk and re-cap the past few years of our marriage. It’s a very sweet evening for us.
Yes I do agree it’s too commercialized and I read somewhere that it’s the biggest card sending day after Christmas...that’s alot $$$. But I still celebrate the holiday but we don’t buy expensive gifts, just cards and we go to dinner. This year I am going to buy him that plant because it has a special meaning that I am trying to convey and it’s just the perfect day to give it to him.
I am with Beachbum and Chinadoll sounds like a naughty fine Valentines to me1 My hubby would just love it.
This will be first Valentines in about 2 years he would not be working.
All my husband will be getting is a card. His birthday was January 12th and he got way too much not to mention everything he got for Christmas...
