    • Mizmary, I have only been to two of them, in Michigan.
When my hubby said he was taking me, we were almost to the track, and I was like just pull over and sell my ticket to someone, I will go shopping and pick you up when it is over. Of course he said NO...I was so glad he made me go, it was an experience I will never forget. The rumble and smells were so exciting! I actually got to meet Bill Elliot, he came here to my home town. So Fun!!!
I have tried to watch it on TV but I just can’t get into it???

    • I’m not a NASCAR fan.  Just never really got into it.  I guess because my parents never watched racing on tv therefore I didn’t get into it.  My husband and boys are not into either.

    • I’ve been a fan of NASCAR for along time. Michael Waltrip has been my favorite all a long! None of the men in my life have been “sports” watchers!! But they all know I will not miss a race unless I’m in the hospital!!
My husband surprised me 3 years ago, by telling me 2 weeks before the Darlington race, that he had tickets for the 2 of us & we would be driving 2 1/2 hours (to & from) the track so we could make it to all of the racetrack activities! He learned his lesson that year! Last year we got a room in Columbia,SC, so we wouldn’t have to drive too far in between the different races. It’s my Valentine’s, Mother’s Day & Birthday gifts all rolled into what I call——Darlington Week. I spend all year saving money & making plans for my 3-4 days away from home & at the Darlington Racetrack/ hotel. It is heaven!! We have ear plugs for during the race, water bottles we carry in a big cooler in the car & a small NASCAR collapsable cooler for water bottles during the race. I’m like the rest of you die-hard fans——I love the sounds, smell, crowds( Michael W. fans recognize each other by what we‘re wearing) & the chance I might get to see my Favorite driver, Michael w. #55!!
Today is the first time I’ll be going over to a friend’s house to join others & watch the race w/ them. We’ve already set up our pool, a lottery where we pay $1 to put in the pool & pick our fav. driver. Then another $1 for the rest of the drivers not spoken for. Their names are put into a hat & it is a chance draw for our 2nd driver. Whoever wins the race-their fan wins the 1st pool, then whoever has the the driver who comes in 2nd wins the 2nd pool. We’ll have food, drink & snacks for the time we‘re there. I’ve got to go get ready to leave so I’ll wish everyone “Good Luck” for all drivers & I hope noone gets hurt today.
      Go Michael Waltrip #55
P.S.  My 2nd fav. is Tony Stewart but I really have a problem w/ Robby Gordon!!! Bye you all!!
