Q & A

My next door neighbor is moving out today. While he was cleaning up his yard, he took a bunch of crap and piled it up behind my fence. My husband, son and I very politely took all the trash and moved it back into his yard just a little while ago.
Have any of you ladies ever had an issue with a neighbor?

yes something similiar but while they lived there - they used to throw their ciggie butts in my garden over their fence - they didn’t smoke in the house they stood in the back porch and then flicked the butts over .... I asked them to stop so after one weekend when they had around 11 people over and them all doing it and drinking and shouting and chatting in the gardent till 4am ... I gathered them up and posted them through the letterbox ...... no one butt ever again

    • In Savannah every time my neighbor had his lawn mowed they would leave the cut grass and and leaves over into my driveway and they would never clean it up. I just started sweeping it back over into their lawn right in their faces.

They also let the branches of a flowering tree grow over into the drive and I would scratch my car up driving in and drop sap all over it..
One day I just went into the house and got my pruners and started cutting the damned branches. I made sure I left them on their lawn so they could see them and dared him to come and knock on my door.
I probably would have gone over to talk to him but he always had a sour look on his face and never returned a greeting so I just said the heck with you and stopped speaking.

    • When you say behind your fence...does that mean like the fence in your backyard?  He piled it up on the other side of  your fence on your property?

Thank goodness we have not had that problem with any neighbors.

    • Yes, he bunched it up and piled it all up right behind my backyard fence. We‘re talking old paint cans, toxic looking cleaners, boards, weights, old campaign signs, Folgers Coffee containers, cigarette boxes (none of us smoke)all kinds of trash and junk!
My husband happened to see it when he was driving past our house this afternoon. We kept trying to figure out why our dogs were going crazy outside a few hours ago.
We waited until he and his buddy packed up the latest load and we moved all of the junk under a tarp that he still has in his backyard.
What makes me mad is we thought he was a friend, we even helped him get his current job! Before we moved the crap we took pictures. We also alerted the neighbor that lives behind us. They own all of the property behind us and he’ll probably try to dump the crap there next.

I just don’t know what has gotten into people.  I can’t imagine doing that to anyone...even a neighbor I didn’t like.  It’s just wrong.

Carol, my neighbor on the other side did the same thing when he first moved in. He would mow his lawn and leave the clippings on my driveway. I swept them back over, he came and apologized and never did it again.

My sister in law has a really crazy older lady for a neighbor.  Now this is a very nice two story brick colonial looking house she has.  She use to have a chicken as a pet...IN HER HOUSE.  Plus..she lets her backyard just grow up with brush...crap....looks like a dang jungle.  She is always complaining about her neighbors...the ball went into my yard...your son killed their cat..(the kids were not even in town when that happened)...she calls the police all the time.
Another neighbor suggested that they write F-You in her front yard with Round-Up......estaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestaticestatic

So when he weedwacked his weeds, he proceded to go along our hedge and stripped the bark off of them so they would die. It was a bad situation. We finally took him to small claims court.

We had an old pallet behind our house when we had a load of bricks delivered a while back, that’s what they loaded the stuff up on. We moved the pallet so that he could see we are the ones that moved his junk.

    • omg omg the hubz....he would sit on a table on an upper deck. He wore the ole time gym shorts and let’s say all his ‘stuff’ would just hang out.

We’d be in the back with the babies in the kid pool or on the swings. We tried not to look.

So, one day i could not take it anymore and asked him, politely, to please keep his ‘little’ friend in check as i do not want my kids thinking they all looked like that! ohhhh

He just made one of his eerie smiles and walked back in. He did keep his distance from me as my dog made it very clear to him not to come close to me. estatic

    • We purchased our house from a local baptist pastor.  He was taking a position at another church further away.  Our house sits on about 3 acres of property and included a small chicken coop within viewing distance of the house.

Of course, we did a walk through of the house before we officially took possession but neglected to check the entire ‘yard‘.

About a week after we moved in, we walked out to check out the coop and found that he had piled all their old junk - including old stuffed animals and junk bicycles his kids had outgrown - out behind the coop!  It had obviously been moved their recently as the grass was laying down around it.

We were none to happy as we then had to haul it to the dump and pay the charges.

I couldn’t believe it!  A pastor no less!

    • mztracy, how so funny....

I don’t have inconsiderate neighbors, but my mom has two in NY, one on each side of her, can you say NIGHTMARE.  Well it all stopped when she had to take one of them to small claims court. Now those of you who are familiar with NY knows that the homes are very close to each other.  One would throw trash down the drive way the other one decided to dig away on her property line, dug up her sidewalk and refused to repair it.

All the harassing stopped soon after the court notified him of his court date.

I ADMIT...My friends and I did that once to another friend when she was on vacation.  We collected junk for about a month and a half and when they left..we had a sofa, a chair, an old desk, an old computer monitor...a rug...a side table..and I even went to Wal-mart and bought a goldfish and bowl..and it was sitting on the table.  Oh..and we finished it off with the a empty box of pizza sitting on the table and...a lamp..and the neighbors cat...felt right at home laying on the sofa.  It was the funniest thing to see.  People started riding by to see it..and it made the paper.
