    • I would have a medical spa and offer IPL facials, laser treatments, etc. I’d offer the best skin care line and share an office with a dermatologist to prescribe the products. What would you do CD??

    • We use to have this awesome gift store in Augusta called:
Fatman’s Forest.  Fatman was the original owner and he died back in the early 70’s.  His wife and children carried on.  They had everything seasonal you could ever want.  It was in an old building..with old large plank hardwood floors...and as the years past...they would add on to it.  They would carry Christmas trees at Christmas...you could get them flocked...fully decorated..whatever.  They would have anything you could possibly want for any season...Halloween...it was the costume capital...boiled peanuts...an old electric train outside that kids could ride for FREE...SANTA CLAUSE THERE TO HAVE YOUR picture taken...Easter Bunny....gifts...nice gifts...they had a catering business along with it.  A florist..you name it...they covered it.  They sold the property to the Medical College of Georgia year before last...since it’s right by the college...and closed Fatman’s forever.  We all miss it tremendously.

So with that said...I would open up my own Fatmans‘....of course another name...but it was an awesome store.

    • Chinadoll, do you mean retail is boring? I’ve never worked in retail.

Hmmm. Beads and mosaic supplies. Yeah, that would be fun. When the shop was slow I could create!

    • I also love retail and I’m very good at it. I just went back to it and I’m having a ball!
However, I would open a small bakery/sandwich shop. I bake almost everyday and I have the hips to prove it!
Coachmom, I think CD meant to say broad instead of board. estatic

    • I would open up a coffee shop with internet service. I would love to have a place for women like us to go and have their coffee, make friends in person as well as on the internet. It would kinda be like the coffee shop in Friends.
I would serve sandwiches and pannini’s. Comfy couches, fireplaces, tables etc. It would have a room for the teenage kids to go, so they could have their own space. Wii’s would be set up so they could play their games.
This has been a dream of mine for quite a few years. But the economy has stopped me from doing it. frown

I think about it.  I would like to have a pet store.  I need to screen every applicants.  Even if they have money, they may not buy my babies.

    • Neicy , I can soooo see you doing that, girl!

Mary , sounds like Fatman's was the place to be, anytime of year! Sure would give Wal mart a run for it's money!

Doreen , what all would you carry in a bridal shop? The only ones I've been in are pretty much exclusively gowns. Do you think you'd offer planning services too?

CD , a pet store would be tooo stinky for me! but I think you have a gift with animals!

Tulip , an organic shop! I think your time is now! well, as soon as the economy bounces back!

    • Coach:  Fatman’s wasn’t cheap....not like Wal-mart..but you could find unusual and “nice” gifts there.  They carried expensive stuff too...like the Dickens Village..etc....they carried Christmas stuff year around.  That is where you could get a big red bows for wreaths and such made.  They had people employed ..that is all they did..was make red bows or any kind of bow you needed.  They carried baby gifts, collegiate stuff...wedding gifts...you could order your wedding invitations..any kind of invitations...cake decorating supplies...they had it...pewter....nice hand lotions...just too much to list.  I can’t imagine the inventory they had.  But it was more pricy than Wal-mart...but everyone went...it was tradition and they did the business.  I guess the money they were paid for that property was too good to pass up and I think the children were ready to do something else.

    • You know, with what’s going on the site right now, I think I will open up a Pure Romance Store; with toys, sexy shoes, and will hold seminar... my speakers will be BB and Neicy for sure.  I will also invite Tulip to make cake.  Kataramoon to do a oil and sage fragrance.  And a building next to it called the Sweet Treat Suite, with rooms with sound proofed, camera for memories.  An after work out room for relaxation and mingle...

      More to dwell on........

    • 1. Photography / Art Studio.

An added twist though~ Besides coming into the studio either for a shoot, or to buy my photography or paintings, there would be options to learn about and create your own painting or sculpture. Perhaps classes.

      2. Cosmetics & Perfume with a cafe & wifi.
