    • I was always mouthing off to my mom. I was in trouble all the time. I had a very big personality when I was a kid and my mom was irritated with me because I just wouldn’t shut up.

Also, she was sort of an older mom when I was born and I think she was going through menopause when I was in adolescence.

    • I also created a crayola master piece on my Mother’s wall. she was not happy. I did not get in trouble a lot but mainly for unlady-like behavor.or at least that’s what my Mother always hollered.

    • What didn’t I get in trouble for? I was the only child to a spank-happy dad with no patience. Lessee...

Stuffed orange peels down the bathroom sink at age 3.

Wrote on the hallway wall in red marker.

Tried to put a dress on the cat at age 3-4.

Allegedly bonked the back-door neighbor girl in the head with my baton (I think she lied, I don’t remember doing it)

Was forced to eat a dinner I said “yuck” about, but they ate in the other room and I sneaked it into the garbage can in the garage. They found it.

Babysitter told me to get my own milk. I knocked the carton to the floor just as my parents walked in. Babysitter totally pinned it on me.

My dad was famous for the line-stop crying or I will really give you something to cry about. My mom was famous for going shrill and yelling. No wonder I didn’t have kids.

    • Cindylou, you just reminded me of this elaborate scheme we had for getting rid of food we did not want. It was my 11th summer, and we (my sisters and I ) were eating lunch...always a hot cooked lunch because my grandma lived with us and did not believe sandwiches or fastfood was lunch.  She would put the food on the table and leave us to eat.  We used to have this boy from the neighborhood ride up on his bike and we would wrap what we didn’t like up in paper and have him toss it in the OUTSIDE trash bins.  We neglected to instruct him that he was not to use OUR bins.  We had a good gig going for about a week or so (if we ate fast, we also got back out to play quicker). Then a neighbor caught on, and told, my grandmother went out and picked through the trash and there were our meals.  We got in SOOO much trouble. Boy did we deserve it.

    • I wasn't intentional naughty the words I would use is popular and a natural leader ... at 11 we changed school and suddenly new friends and older cousins so used to make up amazing games which seem to involve people ending up in hospital due to sprained wrists / ankles including myself – all daredevil stuff involving a wall we were told never to go near.....

So for 2 whole terms I had to sit in the deputy headmasters office doing silly stuff during recesses so the school nurse wasn't  run ragged by injured children ..At the last school reunion several people showed me their war scars from playing with me...... in the end my mother paid to have the wall removed it was easier ....

Then when I was caught smoking at senior school for the millionth time she paid for a swimming pool at the school so they wouldn't expel me – that whole summer 6 week holiday I was grounded ....

    • When I was young I was a good kid, but then I became a teenager, and got with the wrong crowd and it went downhill from there.  Thank God I changed when I finally turned 23. I can hardly wait to see how my son will be.  So far so good, let’s pray he stays that way.  He will be 12 in March.
