    • I have and never will stiff anyone!
If you have ever worked as a server/waitress you would know better.
If the service is bad, depending on the situation, I will tip.
Sometimes they are very busy and just can’t do as much as you would like.
My children have been taught to ask for everything they need when the food comes.
I have seen some people run those poor servers to death only to stiff them.
They make their living and feed their children on tips .

    • 20 percentage 9 out of 10.  If I tip 15, the serve must have ticked me off.

I worked as a waitress many years, esp. during the time I was a single mom as a side job.  I fully understand the struggles and the work itself.

To me, a 5 percentage difference on a small ticket usually is a buck.. yet, when the server sees that it is a 20 percentage, it bring them much joy.

I am not rich but I think if a buck can lighten up someone’s load and bring a sweetness to their hearts, I will do it.  IMHO.

    • I always tip but now I give the tip straight to the waiter not add it in the credit card bill as I know know in London that the tips are just used for staff wages - so I leave the cash for them directly.

    • If you frequent the same eatery often and leave a good tip, your service will be outstanding. They will fight over waiting on you.

    • I’ve been a waitress in the past and lived very well off my tips. In fact every waitress I know is making a whole lot more money than I do these days.

If the service is totally lousy for no apparent reason other than that the waitress is lazy, I won’t hesitate to stiff her.  If they tried, then that’s different.  I tip about 10% because that’s about all I can afford.  The way the price of everything is going up, I just don’t eat out anymore.
