    • Wow that’s so nice!  We just go to dinner, but if it was our 28th...shoot I’d do something like that too.

    • We have our 20th coming up in May.  We were hoping to go to the Sybaris for one night, but our finances is now allowing us to do that.  So my son will go to his Aunt/Uncles house for the weekend, and my husband and I are going to the movies, dinner, etc. things we don’t normally get to do and have the house all to ourselves, and be like newleyweds again.   YEAH BABY!

    • Congratulations on 28 years!  My husband and I have been married for almmost 11 years.  Most years we go away to somewhere we have never been before.  But on our 5th Wedding Anniversary we went to the Cayman Islands (where we spent our honeymoon).  My husband surprised me and asked me to marry him again - he had planned a beautiful sunset ceremony in a garden courtyard - minister, photographer and champagne!  Very romantic!  Last year, at our 10th anniversary, we went to Aruba, again my husband surprised me, and had dinner set up on the beach (the hotel worked with him on this, as they offered dinner on the beach nightly-usually one couple per night) - where he surprised me with an engagement ring and ask me to marry him again.(Sidenote: When we got engagement years back, we got a dog - we didn’t have much money so I didn’t want him spending lots of money on an engagement ring.  We joked that we couldn’t get more committed than buying a dog)  This time we said our vows privately on the beach.  I am very lucky to have such a loving husband!

    • Debmavonlady-we actually re-married each other on a cruise (captain officiated)for our 25th anniversary.

Until our 10th anniversary-we always did something for our home-our 10th (we did give each other a romantic gift too) we put in wood floors in the downstairs, the 11th we did the stairs and the upstairs hall.  Our 12th-a dining room table and yes, the 13th were the chairs! and so on.

for our 20th, hubby insisted on upgrading my wedding set along w/ the cruise.  It was also our first time going away w/ just the 2 of us for an entire week!

As for the R&R Cynthia-hubby definitely deserves it.  I, on the other hand, have been writing my fingers to the bone and loving every minute of it-so I’m going to be a bit lost w/o thinking about articles and columns- however I’m sure I’ll manage! LOL

    • For our twentieth anniversary we partied with a purpose aboard the Tom Joiner Fantastic Voyage cruise. It was so much fun! We partied almost non stop for seven days! The entertainment was off the hook and it was also for a good cause. A lot of the money is donated to Historically Black University’s and Colleges throughout the country and the Caribbean.

    • tuliplady-since my husband is director of training for La-Z-Boy here in SoCal-I do hope at the very least, your hubby was in one of those! LOL

Seriously, bring over some strawberries and dipping chocolate, sit on his lap and enjoy!
