    • Yes, we just have a farmer’s market called Sunflower barely established.  I do like to buy my produce there.

In the summer, we have farmer’s markets every where in the park.  Love to take my dog and roam around.

Cynthia: I now want Hawaii Pineapple and Mango.

    • Are you in Salt Lake City proper? My husband and I sometimes spend a week there in the summer. We stay at the Marriot. I walk all over town; up to the University, over by City Hall, Down to the Olympic shopping center, and I love to take the cable car around town. I walked over to a health food market once, Wild Oats I think. That was a long walk.

If you ever see pineapples that say “Maui Gold” on them, that is a very nice locally grown pineapple. There’s also a smaller version, looks like a mini pineapple, and those are very sweet and far less in acid than regular pineapples.

    • Yes Cynthia, I am only 20 mins away from Downtown Marriott.  Let’s hook up if you ever come this way again.

    • Yes Wild Oats is one but they are pretty expensive.  Now Sunflower is better and cheaper.  Both carry organic items.  Bison Burger?  Yes, they do carry.

    • Bison burger!hahaha I’ve never tried one of those.

This summer my husband’s workshop is in Philly, if he even has a workshop. The economy has been an issue. No one is signing up this summer. But, summer 2010 it would be in Salt Lake. I love that hotel! The staff there is so nice. Two summers ago my husband and I arrived really early, were exhausted and asked if they had a room, any room that would be ready so we could sleep before he had to work. They put us in a HUGE suite, complete with a dining room! We stayed in there for a week! Man, that was nice!

But when I walked to Wild Oats one day some homeless guy followed me and was gabbering the whole way. I finally got sick of him and told him if he didn’t get away from me I’d push him into oncomming traffic. I was at a stop light and when it turned green, I told him, “You‘re staying here until the next light, got it?”

He turned around and walked away.

    • Wow.  Cynthia, you are tough.  Utah is not that bad as far as homeless concern.  Unfortunately, they hang around downtown that’s where your hotel is.  Now we have TRAX and can save you a walk.  2010 is around the corner.  My pinky to you.  I will be your tour guide.

    • I have a pretty good farmers market in Nashville, Tn. In the summer I like to go and buy some summer squash. Also they have really good, big, juicy tomatoes. It is a pretty big place with different farmers there from all over the region. In the fall my husband love to get his turnip greens after the first frost. They also have a indoor cafe with different place to eat from different countries. Its quite unique. Never seen one like this before when I was a kid.

    • Love our farmers market, We are in PA - it’s called The Farmers Daughter - best summertime white corn and watermelon!!  We also have Phoenixville Farmers Market where various local farmers and the community farm gather in the burough every Saturday morning to sell the produce.  They have a Buffalo meat stand, as Phoenixville now raises buffalo. They also have a local coffee company stand and, I believe, all natural baked goods stand.

If you to come to the east coast, we are a few miles west of Historic Valley Forge National Park. Not far from Philly. I can get you information.
