Q & A

Has everyone seen the infomercial about bare minerals makeup? I was wondering if anyone ordered that stuff and if it really works like they say? I have heard mineral makeup works pretty good.

    • Mineral makeup works beautiful, however consider yourself warned. The bare minerals is expensive, you don’t really get all that is pictured and you have refills sent automatically to you (if it is still the same) and you are billed for it.

    • I use Bare Escentuals and love love love it - especially living in the desert where make up has a tendency to melt.  It is expensive but you don’t use a lot.

    • I have learnt the hard way and through friends telling me - you need the primer - not the one in the kit but the other one .. also its not a good coverage if you have blemished skin .. you can’t hide faults like a foundation.

I have used it and do like it but I always go back to my Clairns ....just prefer that look

    • Mineral make-up is good for the skin if you find the right one.Mineral make up sits on the surface of the skin so your skin can still breathe, most other make-up clog the pores of the skin. Most mineral make-up uses to much mica which makes it look powdery on the skin. The best mineral make up is colorescience its more expensive but really works, I have been using it for 4 years and wont use anything else it makes such a difference to my skin and all my clients  love it.

If you don’t want to buy it off the commercial, you can buy a starter kit from Sephora.com. That way you have no obligation for any extra. It is not cheap, but nothing good is.

    • I have used the mineral makeup with Beauticontrol.  I will probably use it more during the hot humid summer months...I like it okay.  It’s really good to use if you have rosecea..however you spell it...and for older women who may have some wrinkles.

    • I have always used Clarins Beauty Flash Balm under my foundation but through using the minerals and the primer I have now started to use their Instant Light complexion perfector and it's made such a difference with my foundation I think that's why I have gone back to foundation.
I'm blessed with good skin and not too many wrinkles but I just didn't like the shade match on the minerals – my skin is very pale and I seemed to spend ages blending the jaw line...
I would now recommend anyone getting a primer for under their make up.

I do remember when I first started using it, it did look clumpy, but when you get used to applying it, it looks great.  I live in Florida, so it works well with the hot weather, not like regular foundation that melts in the heat.  I’ve learned with bare minerals, less is better.

    • I haven’t used BAre Minerals but I have used  Sheer Cover.  They are both expensive.  I sell AVON and AVON has a mineral makeup that works great..Find a rep. in your area and try it.  It isn’t very expensive and it works as well as Sheer Cover.
let me know what you think if you decide to order it from AVON.

I do like gloMinerals better. There is a bit more in the container and costs a little less.

    • I am a MK beauty consultant and I love thier bare mineral make-up. My daughters use it as well. The most important thing for women to remember is that no matter what product you use, you should use the same product line for all of your skin care, such as the cleansers, toners, foundations etc. Using different brands can cause break outs because of the different formulas.

If you are interested in trying it, my suggestion would be look for QVC or HSN’s specials, then if you don’t like it, you can return it for a refund.

The mineral make up gives my face a more “airbrushed” look rather than like cream foundation...filling in and caking in those “fine” lines. It’s also great for the skin, ie no break outs (at least I never have. My skin never looks oily and best of all I have slept in it and one, I don’t find it on my pillow in the morning, but even better... I skin still looks pretty damn good in the morning, lol. I recommend highly.
