    • The term that always got used where I worked was “thrown under the bus.” I tried not to, until it was done to me too many times, then I started being the thrower-if the situation warranted.

    • I managed to work with several tattletales, I mean really third-grade shit. So once they started ratting me out for stupid stuff, I took things I would have normally stewed about to the boss.

I guess that’s not really stabbing in the back, because I never told somebody one thing and then betrayed them.

I’ve always found these people are actually crap at their job and are just covering their own mistakes when they do this ...

Great I don’t have this now I’m not in a big company.

Why did you ask the question are you being bullied at work ?

    • I had a recent situation with a former co-worker, who I recently became her mgr (I also managed her at a previous co).  She is one of those “victim” women who always tells me how lucky I am to get my positions.  Oh yea, not to mention those 50 plus hours I work to earn my promotions and not to mention I get along with everyone and she is a sarcastic bitch.  Since I have became her mgr she is in the ladies room telling people how much she hates me (ok are we still in junior high).  So I had to ask her to do something the other day, rec’d a not so pleasant response, so I told her it needed done, for her to let me have it.  I go to another mgr to vent a little and that mgr demanded we call her in and talk to her and then in that meeting she proceeds to try and throw me under the bus and tell me what a bitch I am, so the other mgr demanded she be written up for insubordination.  I tried to stop it but upper mgmt said no, so now she is really talking shit about me and called me on my personal cell phone to tell me off......but yet I am the one who feels bad that I stabbed her in the back.....sorry had to vent when I saw this question

    • Wow, if she called you on your own cell to bitch at you, she should be fired. That is beyond insubordination.

I am soooooo glad I am my own boss with no employees!! It was due to a being “thrown under the bus” incident at my last job that made me quit.

    • the best part is, I knew if I told my boss that she called my cell that my boss would fire her, but I kept that to myself.  She saw me with my boss in the ladies room, then the next day told my boss “I know she told you I called her cell, but we are friends“.....my boss laughed and said she didn’t tell me but you just did.  Now that is how stupid this woman is....but I am not the only person she has had problems with.....don’t you just hate stupid bitches...lol...oh and her and I are not friends.

    • I hate to see anyone get fired, but I would like her to go away, but my philosphy is give someone enough rope and they will hang themselves.  I do hate that she is trying to turn people against me...but most people must know how she is if they are coming to me and telling me she is acting like an 8th grader in the ladies room.  Honestly she is just not very smart.  She is my age too.....must be hard for her to have a beautiful, smart and every so fabulous manager....lol

    • No, never even thought of doing something like that. It is a shame that people have to act like that.  I am sure I have had a few knives thrown in my back, but I just try and ignore it and hopefully they will go away. LOL

Jane, be patient, she will get what is coming to her.  What goes around always comes around.  Hope you have a great day!

    • One of the reasons I left “corporate America“...too much office politics, butt kissing, back-stabbing, but then I quit doing that (I’m kidding).

Seriously, I’m too “lay your cards out on the table“.  I have no patience or stomach for deceit and hatred.  It’s a major drain on your emotions and your health to be in that environment.  Interestingly, some workplaces actually help foster that kind of environment. I work from home now and am so relieved to be out of that crap.

    • Jane- seriously? And she’s in her 40’s? Issues.

      Teek- haha

UK- agreed. I’ve seen that as well. Troublemakers usually aren’t brilliant at their job.

As for me- not the backstabbing type at all. haha I’ve always found it interesting though, that when you tell it like it IS, people look at you as though you have 3 heads. lolol
