    • All the time and the other thing is people wave at me and I don’t see them ..... I hugged someone last Thursday night at a big event thinking it was a friend - thankfully he knew of me and was okay - I was mortified and had my eyes checked the next day.....

Yet the optician says I don’t need glasses for distance !

    • All the times and they gave a funny look.  I even walk up to them sometimes.  Now I am getting a little smarter by saying “You look very familiar.  Do I know you from somewhere?”

    • I have all the time also I have not waved at people I knew because I did not see them, so I have learned it is better to wave at others, whether I am sure or not

    • OMG..that has happened to me sooo many times...

Or how about seeing someone you swear looks familiar and you think she’s pregnant..You walk up to her to try and strike up a convo..ask how many months she is and she says..“I’m not“...and then it hits you, you’ve insulted a total stranger...Open mouth, insert foot..lol

    • I was ‘accosted’ by someone this past Sunday who swore she knew me. We were in DC, at the subway (trains) and I haven’t been on one in such a long time. She kept saying, “I know you from somewhere, just can’t place the name” And I didn’t recognize her so I tried to keep walking. Then she said a friend of ours name and I told her yes, I knew her, She said “It’s me Valerie” I was like OMG..I do know her, she looks so....so....so different. It’s been at least 25 years since we last saw each other, back in High School she was my partner in crime. Since then she’s been battling all kinds of illnesses, including cancer and it shows by her appearance..We hugged for a long time and promised to keep in touch...

    • Ha Ha... I am visualizing all sorts of comedic reactions on both the person waving and the one being waved at. lol
They should have this on the “How We Do It Show,” with Howie Mandell.

    • Oh, yes, I do that.  And I’ve walked up and put my arm around the wrong guy before (actually that’s not a bad way to pick up men).

And I’ve grabbed the wrong kid by his shirt collar one time too.  I went to pick my son up from school back when he was maybe a kindergartener.  His group of boys was just milling around the hallway being typical boys and I grabbed the little blonde boy with the crew cut by the shirt collar and said, “Let’s go already!”  Then I looked down and realized I had the wrong blonde boy.  Same haircut, same color shirt, wrong face.  Boy, was I embarassed!

    • I had a guy in a convenience store in another state walk up to me and start a conversation claiming he was sure he knew me from somewhere.  I’d never been there before and probably wasn’t very polite as I told him so.  He was a little creepy.
