Honey she is still around - she balled me out this morning bacause I hadn’t done something - she takes no prisoners!

She does a massive amount with the Asian community in her town as most of the younger women don’t speak English so she set up a school and she organises extra English lessons for the children as she knows if the mother can’t speak the language it will hold the children back and they will never reach full potencial - she speaks fluent Urdu and Punjabi - she was born and raised in Manchester. We are not Asian she just sees the community as people how need help and she does they call her baba Joan

    • The last company I worked for had this awesome CEO. He had a hands on approach and knew everyone. Every conversation with him was either funny/real/motivating/educational.
He had a genuine enthusiasm that was infectious. He was able to pull you into his vision and help you see your part in it.

That’s who I wanna be when I grow up!

    • My Director 2 jobs back.  She was/is definately a go-getter without being the b word.  I will always remember the advice she gave me about tooting my own horn because no one else would.  She was also a wonderful life coach, always being honest about her experiences as both a professional and a Mother.

    • My Mum she left for work at 6.15am she came home at 5.15pm she went back to work again at 6.45 pm and came home at 11pm – she did this 6 days a week. She owned a big steel factory on 24 hour production – she made sure all the staff had health and welfare benefits – she opened the canteen and paid for buses so children could eat their supper and do their homework together instead of them going home to an empty house or a neighbours.

She set up a fund for children to go to university and to realise their potential – she made no distinction between boys or girls.
She made sure that all the women whose husbands worked for her and had a tendency to drink their wages got the rent and food money first.
She was a social pioneer who led by example and her motto in life was if you think something is unfair change and speak out......she is now a feisty 70+ woman who still is very active in her community.

      My Mum was everyones mum
