I bought a Lavender/Vanilla candle a while back that was to die for. I absolutely love the two fragrances. I buy her candles and so far there hasn't been that she hasn't enjoyed. I'm a big believer in that you can't go wrong with giving a candle. I know I love to receive them.
Also, we bought Yankee brand, Mango and I forgot the other scent and it’s wonderful.

That sounds good Lu; I can’t quit burnin this Jasmine that I got from you. I will have to order two cause if I get it for her I’d be to tempted to keep it. 
MBG, I have all the ones you named. Jane, I have a ton of florals-sweet pea, jasmine, lilac, lavender, rose, freesia, honeysuckle, hyacinth, daffodil and a really neat one called raspberry vanilla.
Angel, I just bought a lavender/vanilla scent to try. If I may say so, I have lots of people tell me they like mine better than Yankee.
Plus, they are less expensive.
I can vouch for Lou, her candles are awesome, I like them much better than Yankee

Breast cancer candles with pink mosaic from Pier One. she can’t wear perfume etc b/c she has a migraine problem and scents cause them.
Plus she’s a BC survivor.
Jen, have you seen my line of Compassionate Candles? They raise funds for BC, heart disease and domestic violence. And i can make them unscented.
MBG, you should really try Lou’s. I was very impressed with the way they burn. I am (was) a huge Yankee Candle fan, but Lou’s are a much better quality!
Plus...I am all about helping out the small business person over the big companies. Being a small business owner myself, I know how much love and compassion is put into it.
