    • Getting it across that I am not like the typical weight-loss company.

Even saying it here makes it seem like I am!  I am an advocate of a
      healthy lifestlye=healthy weight=beautiful attitude=beautiful you!

It’s hard to get across to women when there are hundreds of companies out there telling them “Hey, I’ve got the magic bullet for you.....”

Presenting my philosophy as a fitness and nurition professional is definitely my biggest challenge!

    • Encee-AMEN! to your first sentence. I have a candle making business. I am not a distributor or wholesaler. My biggest issue is getting my candles in front of enough people so they can see and smell the difference.

Cynthia, that was the reason I had to have my website professionally built; I just could not do it all anymore. I’m considering outsourcing my labels instead of printing myself because it is waaaaay too time-consuming.

    • Cynthia, I am with you in this real estate market it is staying focused. Everybody ask all the time about the economy and how is your business.

IT is still good but you have to focus and not get distracted by all the negative reports on the housing market and the economy. THE INTEREST RATES TODAY ARE 4.5 % ON A THIRTY YEAR MORTGAGE. This is an awesome rate.

    • Interesting question.  I don’t see challenges based on the fact that I am a woman business owner, but challenges based on the fact that this economy really sucks right now.

    • LOL I have to agree with Denise64,  the economy in its present state really makes it hard for self employed business owners more so than being challenged in other areas.

Are you doing anything different with your marketing in the down economy?

Are you happy with your website or other Internet marketing efforts?

    • Yes, this down economy does create more challenges.  I find that I am relying more on others in realted businesses, friends and family to get the word out about my business, which saves on advertising $$.

It’s interesting too that men have done this for - what? - centuries?,  whereas women weren’t in business as much so we are really just starting to recommend each other.

The down economy has made it harder to make a profit, no doubt, but I find too it’s creating a larger network for me because of what we‘re all doing to stay afloat.
