in may of this year, the Lord placed on my heart one friday morning, to go back to Michigan to visit my family.. well, i got to work, and had people pray over me about it, and KNEW that if this was REALLY from the Lord, He would bless this trip..

After lunch, one of my co workers came to me and handed me an envelope, and when i opened it, it had $100.00’s in it, and she told me that the Lord placed it on her heart to do this for me.. i KNEW that the Lord had just blessed my trip!

i got home from work, and told the children to pack.. we were making a trip to Michigan! they were all excited, and they asked if Grandma knew, and i told them no.. its a surprise!

we got there 12 hours later.. its a 9-10 hour drive, but i needed to stop and sleep for 2 hours, as i had been up since 5:30am! we left home at 11pm!

Long story short, we got there and my mom was so happy and crying and clinging to me! i hadent seen her since we had moved in 06.. the children had been back, but i hadn’t..

What a healing time for her and i! our relationship had never been good, until the last few years.. it was a weekend, of healing and forgiveness for both of us.. i am so greatful that the Lord placed it on my heart that day..

See, my mom is dying.. she has parkinsons, sarcoid, and pulminary fibrosis.. keep her in your prayers please...

thanks for letting me share!
Blessings

      Great question!  :c)

I went to Jamaica with my mom and my Aunt Elaine. I had a blast! I had never had a real vacation before, we went everywhere: Dunns River Falls, shopping, touring and eating the best jerk chicken ever.
My aunt decided to be adventurous and try some of the scorching hot sauce made with habanero peppers. The look on her face clearly said HELP! We still chuckle about that!!

    • Oh, wow! Well, hubby and I took a trip to Spain many (not sure, more than ten) years ago. It was amazing! We went to visit 2 foreign exchange students we had hosted. I would love to go back someday. But that trip may tie with my 50th birthday trip to Sedona with 2 of my bestest friends, and surprised by my daughter and her best friends presence upon our eventual (long story) arrival! Both trips make my top ten list of amazing experiences to remember!

Thanks for the fun question, feathermaye!

Jamaica sounds fun! Mike wants to go to Australia. Anyone been there?

    • My best vacation was my vacation/honeymoon that my husband & I took this past July to Vermont.  We climbed mountains, enjoyed the beautiful scenery, and had some of the best food we could imagine.  It was sooo relaxing that neither one of us wanted to come home.  We are planning to go back next year.

    • Crazy... I got all caught up on the silliness that I forgot I asked this question, lol.

My husband and I have taken one real vacation together so far (in 7 years, isn’t that sad?). We went to his hometown in North Carolina so that I could meet family (I’d only ever met his kids). That was a really fun time, lots of partying and carrying on.

My all-time favorite trip though was a whirlwind weekend to California in 2001 with an ex-boyfriend. We did San Jose, San Francisco, Monterrey Bay, Pebble Beach and Carmel between Friday afternoon and Sunday night. I took about 15 rolls of film and was exhausted by the time I got home, but it was a trip of a lifetime.

    • My best vacation I’d have to say was Hawaii last year...Our honeymoon...we went to Waikiki...a beautiful Island...we were beach bums for a week..we drank so much everyday (I’m not really a drinker)and walked across the street and just lay on the beach or swam...We had so much fun that we didn’t want to come home and actually almost forgot our flight...We thought we had 2 days left and I happened to look at the tickets and realized our flight was hours away...You should have seen the look on our faces...

    • Tahiti 2002.  My husband turned 40 and as part of his midlife crisis decided to take up scuba diving.  We took the theory/pool classes at home, and went to Tahiti to get certified.  Although I quickly found out that I didn’t enjoy scuba diving as much as I hoped to, the vacation, a week without the kids, was the best I ever had.

    • In March 2007 by husband, two daughters and I were lucky enough to be able to take a whole month off for travelling. We had often spoken about our desire to have a really extended break, but until last year it had never been possible to take that much time off work.

Our main destination was to be New Zealand, but we took out time in getting there stopping off in Singapore and Melbourne to visit friends. We then spent two weeks travelling from the top of New Zealand to the bottom in a glorious camper van. We saw whales, climbed a glacier, soaked in volcanic hot pools and walked up a volcano. On the way back home we stopped in Sydney and Bangkok.

It was the holiday of a lifetime and New Zealand is now one of my very favourite places and I plan to return one day when I have even more time to travel. But the absolute highlight of the vacation for me was spending a whole month of quality time with the three people I love most in the world. xxx
